Stripped to the bare essentials, it features big, bold images to draw the reader into your content.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Yarn (y\u00e4rn): a long or rambling story, especially one that is implausible<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>By default, the background color is set to <span style=\"color: #352922;\">chocolate brown (#352922)<\/span>, the header text is set to a <span style=\"color: #b6a999;\">tan brown (#b6a999)<\/span> and the menu and primary colors are <span style=\"color: #eb9f9f;\">pink (#eb9f9f)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The headline, byline and quote font is <span style=\"font-family: 'Playfair Display', Georgia, serif; font-size: 1.5; font-weight: bold; color: #454545;\">Playfair Display<\/span>, a stylish serif font, in bold and the body text is Lato, an easy-to-read sans-serif font. Both fonts are available at Google fonts.<\/p>\n<p>Using the WordPress customizer, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>change the background color<\/li>\n<li>add a background image<\/li>\n<li>change the header text color<\/li>\n<li>change the header icon<\/li>\n<li>add a header image<\/li>\n<li>change the menu color<\/li>\n<li>change the primary (link) color<\/li>\n<li>preview your changes before publishing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Featured Images<\/h6>\n<p>Yarn features big, bold featured images to draw the reader into the content.\u00a0Your featured image needs to be at least <strong>1100 pixels wide<\/strong> to be displayed on the blog index page.<\/p>\n<h6>Menus &amp; Sidebars<\/h6>\n<p>Yarn has one, mobile-ready menu, which is discreetly hidden behind the menu button until needed. Add your social network links to the menu and Yarn will automatically add their icons. The theme does <em>not<\/em> support sidebars.<\/p>\n<p>Yarn, like its parent theme, is responsive. It looks good on computers, tablets, and cellphones alike.<\/p>\n<h6>Plugins<\/h6>\n<p>Saga uses the <a title=\"Download Subtitles plugin\" href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/subtitles\/\" target=\"_blank\">Subtitles plugin<\/a> by Philip Arthur Moore for subtitles. It also integrates with Justin Tadlock&#8217;s <a title=\"Custom Background Extended\" href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/custom-background-extended\/\" target=\"_blank\">Custom Background Extended<\/a> and <a title=\"Custom Header Extended\" href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/custom-header-extended\/\" target=\"_blank\">Custom Header Extended<\/a> for custom-per-post backgrounds and headers. Yarn, too, plays nice with these plugins\u2014though there are no default backgrounds or header images. Download and install these plugins to use them with Yarn.<\/p>\n<p>Because Yarn is a child theme, you <em>must<\/em> also install it&#8217;s parent theme: <a title=\"Saga\" href=\"http:\/\/themehybrid.com\/themes\/saga\" target=\"_blank\">Saga<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a title=\"Wordpress Child Theme Yarn\" href=\"http:\/\/www.themehybrid.com\/themes\/yarn\" target=\"_blank\">download this theme<\/a> at Theme Hybrid, home to more awesome free themes.
